Did you know that almost 20% of African children under the age of 13 are orphans, due to death by aids, malaria, dysentery, rape, murder and prostitution?

Westside Community Church is going on a mission to help two orphanages to get these children off the floors and into beds as well as teach the local men in Kenya the trade of woodworking . Our project will be to build 100 triple Bunk Beds. We don't want to just give them a fish for a meal, but teach them to fish so they can eat a lifetime.

The names of the Orphanages are Victory Christian Center orphanage and are located in Nairobi, Kenya and Siaya, Kenya. There are 184 orphans in Nairobi and 36 orphans in Seiya. Each bunk will have a chest of drawers under the bottom bunk to provide a personal drawer for each child.

This project will accomplish two main purposes, first to train local men the skill of woodworking and second to get these children off the floors and into beds.

Several power tools and hand tools have already been purchased and will be left in Kenya for these men to begin their woodworking business.

The cost of materials is $250-$300 for each triple bunk bed. Westside Community Church is in major need of raising money for this very special project.
