About Phil... Phil successfully guides clients in the pursuit of Salmon, Steelhead and Sturgeon on several northwest rivers, bays and near coastal. The focus of Phil’s business, Paradise Guide Service, is to always give the best customer experience possible and share his knowledge of the fishery, habitat and successful techniques. As Phil moves forward in his outdoor career, hosting of Northwest Outdoors is simply a natural progression in his passion for the outdoors. Phil’s hunting and fishing career started at a very young age with his father sharing his love of the outdoors. Raised right here in Oregon, he grew up in the Willamette Valley on a Dairy farm along with seven other brothers and sisters. Phil caught his first fish at the ripe old age of six and has been "hooked" on the outdoors ever since. He accompanied his father and four older brothers as the family went on fishing trips to Detroit reservoir, deer hunting in southeast Oregon, steelhead fishing on the Oregon coast and bird hunting on the family farm. Phil always had a love of animals, whether it was the family hunting dog or the animals he was pursuing. His respect of the outdoors and everything that goes with it is unmatched. Shortly after college, Phil chose a corporate career and even that lead him into a field dealing with animals. All the while, he was well connected to the outdoors. Phil fishes Salmon, Steelhead, Sturgeon and many other fresh and salt water fish both regionally and abroad. Phil has many hunting interest from upland birds, waterfowl to big game. But one of Phil's true hunting passions is the pursuit of Elk during the archery season. He caught the archery Elk hunting bug many years ago and looks forward to that special time afield each year. Approximately five years ago instead of spending part time in the field, he left the corporate world behind for a full time career in the outdoors. Phil started his own guide business. He now owns and operates, Paradise Guide Service, a full service fishing guide business. | |
